Band Notes -- Week of April 8th-14th

Jazz Band will meet at their regularly schedule times this week.

Tuesday - 7am, Wednesday - 7am, Friday - 7am

2019 Drumline Audition Callbacks are Monday evening.

Percussion Ensemble will meet Tuesday evening.

KSHSAA State Large Group Festival - Thursday, April 11th

This Thursday, our large choral, orchestra, and band ensembles will perform for adjudicators as part of our state assessment. Students should make sure they know their bus assignments and departure times. Performances are open to the public and are times are listed below.

Symphonic Band - Performs at 1:30pm in the Olathe South Auditorium

Wind Ensemble - Performs at 12:45pm in the Olathe South Auditorium

Symphonic Orchestra - Performs at 2:50pm in the Olathe Northwest Auditorium

Symphonic Band Students:

Eat Lunch EHT A, Pack & Load during EHT B

12:35pm - Depart ON for OS

1:10pm - Warmup

1:30pm - Performance

Students should be back to school at ~2:05pm

Wind Ensemble Students:

Bring $$ for Brunch

Stay in the Band Room for Advisory

10:10am - Load Buses & Depart ON for Big Biscuit

10:30am - Arrive and Eat at Big Biscuit

11:55am - Depart Big Biscuit for OS

12:25pm - Warmup

12:24pm - Performance

Non-Full Orchestra Students (Bus 1) - Load Bus and Depart for ON (arrive ~1:20pm)

Full Orchestra Students (Bus 2) - Load Bus and Depart for ONW

2:25pm - Full Orchestra Warmup

2:50pm - Full Orchestra Performance

The bus will pick us up after they finish their after-school routes. Times are unknown.

Congratulations to Nathaniel Martin and Jude Stapf, members of the Fountain City Youth Brass Band, for winning their FIFTH consecutive North American Brass Band Association Youth Championship this week! Nathaniel Martin was also in the 1st Place Youth Ensemble Competition as a member of a tuba quartet, and the winner of the Youth Low Brass Solo Competition!
